Luca Facheris is Associate Professor of Radar Systems and Telecommunications Fundamentals at the School of Engineering and scientific responsible of the “Radar and remote sensing systems” group of the Radar and Millimetric Waves Laboratory of the Department of Information Engineering. Since 1989 he has been involved in research concerning active systems, be they radar systems (e.g., polarimetric radars, ground- and spaceborne weather radars) or networks of point-to-point radio linked systems. He has been and is the scientific responsible of several research projects in the field of observation of the Earth and of its
atmosphere, funded by ESA, ASI, the European Union, the Tuscany Region, MUR (PRIN). He is the author of more than 150 papers published in international journals and conference proceedings. He has been a reviewer for international scientific journals in the radar and remote sensing area such as Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, IET Radar, Sonar and Navigation, IET Electronics Letters, International Journal of Remote Sensing, EURASIP Journal on Applied Signal Processing, AMS Journal of Atmospheric and Oceanic Technology and Journal of Applied Meteorology and Climatology, International Journal of Remote Sensing.
