ERIT (Signal Processing for Enhanced Radar Imaging)

The aim of this project is to develop a class of algorithms to obtain high resolution ISAR images with highly manoeuvring platforms and targets and to implement such algorithms on a real-time processor based on FPGA technology.

The project was conducted in collaboration with MBDA-IT, MBDA-UK and ONERA and lasted for a period of one year, as predicted.

The project resulted in the construction, test and validation of a real-time processor that was able to form ISAR images in real time using FPGA based technology. The challenge was related to the development of algorithms that could be implemented on an FPGA-based architecture and could run in real time.
